Finally the wait is over and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ has arrived.

Several delays, problems and imposing promotions later the most anticipated film of the year is unfolding for the audience, to get their verdict. Same way as the viewers were inquisitive about the making of this grand film, the team now would be equally waiting for the overall response.

The three-versioned film – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu – is inspired from the Indian epic Ramayana. However, the team has went on to clarify that it’s just not that, instead the story highlights the negative character and so the title ‘Raavan’.

Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and south star Vikram, ‘Raavan’ loosely adapts the story and main characters from Ramayana.

Bannered under Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies, the film releases in approximately 2200 screens worldwide today (18th June) - making it the first Indian film to release simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.

Another interesting highlight in ‘Raavan’ is its one-of-its-kind scene, which is said to have never seen before in any film. In the course of the film, comes a situation where Abhishek (Raavan) falls in love with Aishwarya, the wife of the cop and lady whom he kidnaps. Abhishek is shown proposing her while walking in circles in water, similar to like walking around a holy fire.

A known fact to all, the entire film has this ‘water’ feel – with most of the scenes shot in rains and water-logged situations…

Well, so go and catch ‘Raavan’ at your nearest cinema house and get the effect…
